Queensland Government Should Grant Adani Mining Lease

Queensland-based federal Coalition MPs are calling on the Queensland Government to issue a mining lease for the Carmichael Mine now that an environmental authority has been issued.

There should be no further delays in the Queensland Government issuing a mining lease for the Carmichael Mine now that the environmental authority has been granted.

After five years of approval processes, it is incumbent on the Queensland Government to grant this mining lease.

There is no legal impediment standing in the way of the Queensland Government.

We congratulate the Queensland Government for issuing this environmental authority. Now it is time for Queensland Mines Minister Anthony Lynham to get on with the job of issuing this mining lease, and create thousands of jobs in regional Queensland.

The people of Central and North Queensland want to know when this mining lease will be issued – they deserve an answer to this question.
